Context
LovOn is an AI-enabled relationship support product. The mobile experience had to support emotionally sensitive interactions, subscription flows, evolving AI behavior, and real-time voice without exposing the complexity underneath.
Product judgment was as important as implementation: the interface had to remain predictable even when the service behind a response was probabilistic.
Responsibilities
- Established the mobile foundation across iOS and Android.
- Designed native product flows with SwiftUI and UIKit for iOS around MVP-C.
- Integrated WebSockets, StoreKit, analytics, backend APIs, and release workflows.
- Shipped real-time voice with LiveKit and RetellAI.
- Used behavior and metrics to shape interaction and AI iterations.
0 to 60K+ monthly active users.
Engineering decisions
Architecture follows the product
Support fast iteration without turning each new behavior into a fragile special case.
AI stays behind a reliable contract
The mobile layer owns states, retries, feedback, and UX around probabilistic services.
Voice is a product state
Connecting, listening, speaking, interruption, and failure are modeled explicitly.
Shipping continues after release
Analytics and production support reveal gaps between designed and actual behavior.
Outcomes
- 60K+monthly active users
- +25%engagement in recent interaction and AI iterations
- 2mobile platforms
- 0→1product foundation
The work established a mobile system that grew from initial architecture to production while accommodating product, subscription, AI, and voice changes.
