Context

LovOn is an AI-enabled relationship support product. The mobile experience had to support emotionally sensitive interactions, subscription flows, evolving AI behavior, and real-time voice without exposing the complexity underneath.

Product judgment was as important as implementation: the interface had to remain predictable even when the service behind a response was probabilistic.

Responsibilities

  • Established the mobile foundation across iOS and Android.
  • Designed native product flows with SwiftUI and UIKit for iOS around MVP-C.
  • Integrated WebSockets, StoreKit, analytics, backend APIs, and release workflows.
  • Shipped real-time voice with LiveKit and RetellAI.
  • Used behavior and metrics to shape interaction and AI iterations.

Engineering decisions

Architecture follows the product

Support fast iteration without turning each new behavior into a fragile special case.

AI stays behind a reliable contract

The mobile layer owns states, retries, feedback, and UX around probabilistic services.

Voice is a product state

Connecting, listening, speaking, interruption, and failure are modeled explicitly.

Shipping continues after release

Analytics and production support reveal gaps between designed and actual behavior.

Outcomes

  • 60K+monthly active users
  • +25%engagement in recent interaction and AI iterations
  • 2mobile platforms
  • 0→1product foundation

The work established a mobile system that grew from initial architecture to production while accommodating product, subscription, AI, and voice changes.
